Birthday Festivities

Grace's birthday was Thursday, but we held off on giving her her big gift until the 5th - justifying it because of the time difference between Korea and Nebraska, and saying it wasn't truly her birthday because it wasn't the right time in the States yet.  We did this because she was so certain that she was going to get the American Girl doll she had requested.  So we decided that we would let her stew a bit...
But alas - she did indeed get it.  And she was just a wee bit excited about it.
Because of her request for a Josephina doll, we went with a fiesta theme for her birthday party, as Josephina is from New Mexico.
She made a pin the scarf on Josephina game,
two doll sleeping bags, and two doll skirts for prizes for the games she chose to play.
Musical dolls
Hot dollie
Freeze dance.
Instead of a decorated cake like I normally do for her birthday, she told me she wanted a trifle.  I didn't know how I felt about that because I enjoy making her cakes just the way she likes them, but on the other hand this was so much easier and less time consuming!
She had a wonderful 8th birthday celebration with all of her friends.
And now it's off to Mt. Seorak!
