We got off our boat so we could tour the streets of the floating village. It is the dry season, so there are shops on the ground level and people walking the streets and riding their bikes.

Drying shrimp
When the rainy season comes, the lake floods into the streets and these homes "float" on the water. It is amazing to me that there is that much of an increase in the water level.
Another shop.
We had the opportunity to purchase notebooks and school supplies to give to the kids. Our kids felt really good about giving the children things they needed so they could go to school.
A Buddhist temple
During a prayer service.
The one thing I don't understand is the fact that the majority of Buddhists have no idea what the Monks are chanting. We asked our tour guide what they were saying and he just kind of chuckled and said, "We don't really know. They learn them in their schooling, but we don't know what they're saying." They just trust that the Monks are saying prayers for them (which I don't doubt, but I sure like to understand what is being said!).
