Soccer kids

Soccer season started a couple of weeks ago, and today was the kids' first game.  Grace was up first.

She's on the Lil' Rascals team, and took one of David's numbers from high school for her number.

One of the really cool things about living here is that all the jerseys are custom made.  They even had a measurement session before the season began!

She did really well going after the ball today!

I wasn't sure she would even play this year because by the end of last year she didn't really want to play.  She would be on the field, but really wasn't interested in the game or getting near the ball.

And then it was Tristan's turn!  He was SO excited!  I'm so thankful that they had back to back games, because it looks like there is only one more game a piece that David or I will get to watch.  All of the other games are at the same time, but on different fields.

Tristan is one of 2 boys that can take the ball down the field and score just about every time.

The coaches try to split them up so they're not fighting each other for the ball...

In his defense, he tends to run with arms bent and high elbows, but he found that he could push kids around with them too. 

Both of them had a good time and played very well.  I was really impressed with Grace's improvement from last year, and her willingness to get in there and get physical to help her team out.  I had a feeling Tristan would be fabulous because of his ability to control the ball last year when he was just messing around, but I had no idea that he'd be such a good goal scorer too!

Yeonpo Beach

We had the perfect ending to "B" week with a trip to the beach.  One of my girlfriends had taken her family there over Labor Day weekend and said that it was a pretty nice place.  So, we plugged the name into our GPS and headed off.

We went over this really cool bridge.

They have some of the neatest bridges here in Korea, and it seems no two are alike.

The first time I looked at this picture, it looked to me like the foot was popping out.

When I posted it here I could see that it was really an impression.

And we even found a few items that moved us seamlessly into "C" week!

There wasn't much to see, but they did find a hermit crab.

He built a sand castle, and decided that he'd had enough of that.

David found a tiny crab.

After we saw this one, the kids found them everywhere!  They even wanted to try to catch one to bring home and put in our fish tank.

They were all digging to try to find the critter that was attached to the "straw" coming out of the sand.  Every time they would get somewhat deep, it would break, so we never did find out what it was.  So if there's any of you out there who know their marine biology, please give us some insight on this creature!

Tristan just had to wear David's SCUBA gloves.

On our way home we stopped at a roadside stand and bought some garlic (like 30+ heads - I have no idea what I'm gonna do with all of it!).

And we bought some apples.  They are delicious!

And for those of you who have been here and say that you don't know where they get their beef because you have never seen cows in Korea...here they are. Alright, they're probably milk cows... man you're picky!

You see farm equipment everywhere, but this is the only dealership we have seen.

We had a fabulous day and hope to go back again soon.  We'd also like to go to the west side of the pinnensula before it gets too cold so we can see some beautiful white sand and crystal blue waters.
