Our Treasures

Here are our treasures from our trip.  Note to self: be cautious of what you are buying even if it is a great deal... we had to buy an extra suitcase to get all of this home. Thankfully it was a good deal too. :)

Cathay Life Park

There was a little park not too far from our hotel that we hung out at quite a bit so the kids could run off some steam.

Grace made a new friend - imagine that!

Her name is Allison, and they exchanged e-mail addresses so they can be pen pals.

I am so glad we found this park!  It was a great way to let the kids unwind, especially on the days they didn't have much freedom to just run.

Saigon Zoo

Right next to the history museum was the zoo.  After our miserable experience at the zoo in Beijing, David and I weren't too excited about going, but we knew that the kids would enjoy seeing the animals.

The tram wasn't running, but we sure got a kick out of seeing John Deere green!

I had to post this - I have no idea what it is all about, but I couldn't be the only one with this ridiculous image emblazoned on my memory!

After seeing the animals, it was time to go climb on a few prehistoric creatures.

 

While the zoo was not up to par according to America standards, we were pleasantly surprised.  It was much better than the China zoo and I didn't walk away from it feeling that the animals were in a totally hopeless situation.  And, most importantly, the kids enjoyed a fun day for them, not just doing something Mom and Dad said they had to do.
