Halloween Events

We had a busy few days of Halloween activities, beginning with Spooky Hallow on the 26th.
Anakin Skywalker, and Cleopatra
My little skeleton

The morning of Halloween we all got up and went for a "fun" run at 0630!  It was cooold!
Yoda, Luke Skywalker,  Young Anakin, and Cleopatra
Warming their hands over a pot of hot water.

That night, the soldiers had trick-or-treat at the barracks for the kids.
Some of them got really into it and had their hallways all decorated up.
They gave out gobs of really good candy too - mostly chocolate so I can't throw any of it away. :-/

Then it was off to Halleluja night put on by the Chapel.
The winners of the Biblical costume contest!
Daniel in the Lion's Den
Answering Bible trivia questions to get out of jail.
Grace had to answer every question before she was released!
Joseph's wife
Yoda!

Spouse Ride

Today we had a chance to get a little taste of what our husband's do.  We started the morning with some physical fitness training.
The girls of the 532nd MI Bn.
MAJ Skells and SFC Samuelson never looked so good!

Then it was off to the indoor range where we had to don IBA (Individual Body Armor) and kevlar prior to shooting our weapons.
Our targets
I really enjoyed shooting, but I have a whole new respect for what they have to go through in wearing all the protective gear they have to wear!  It's tough to get into a comfortable shooting position with that vest on - not to mention the kevlar always falling in my line of sight!
I finally gave up on the kevlar.
Then we got to "fire" the gun on top of the LMTV
The aircraft David used to fly on.
It was interesting to see the interior and see David's old office, and I even got to sit in the cockpit.
Receiving an unclassified briefing on the aircraft.

It was a fun day with the ladies and getting to learn a little about what our husbands do on a day to day basis.

Grace's 8th Birthday Pictures

We went to the botanical gardens for a homeschool field trip today and decided that that would be the perfect place for Grace's birthday pictures as we put them off a bit so we could have some of the beautiful fall colors in the background.

I just love the Korean schools' uniforms.  You always know who is with whom because of the color they are wearing.
This little princess decided she needed to climb up the steps to the observation tower too.
I just love the colors in this one.
I'm totally a Spring and Fall kind of girl.

Osan Air Power Days

Today we spent a good part of the day at the air show at Osan Air Base checking out all the different aircraft they had on display and watching the stunt pilots do their thing.  The thing that makes this air show different is the fact that we got to see Korean and US aircraft.

This one's for you Grandma!

F5 Freedom Fighter
F4 Phantom
For my Uncle Robby who flew them in Vietnam

Korean Air Force AWACS Boeing 737
I have no idea what she was doing, but it was pretty loud so she's rockin' the ear plugs.

Looking at the machine gun - cuz that's what's important to boys!
Inside a C 141
South Korean Black Eagles
I think David and I were more impressed with the acrobatics than the kids were, but it was some really cool stuff!
My boy insists he's going to be a pilot some day.
CH-47 Chinook
South Korean (Russian made) Ka27 Helix helicopter, one of only a couple helicopters with stacked counter rotating propellers and no tail rotor
