Potty Training Bliss

Today Tristan decided that he was going to potty train himself...

He came and told me this morning "pee". So, I checked his diaper and he was still dry. I took his diaper off and sent him into the bathroom, where, lo and behold, he peed in the potty! Mind you, he's been doing this about once a day for the last few days, but there has been no consistency to it, and he would let me put a diaper back on him...

Today however, it was a different story. He REFUSED to have a diaper on. All it took today was asking him if he needed to go "potty" and he would go into the bathroom and do his business. The only time he used a diaper is when he took a nap. Grace and I have both made over him each time he has been successful, and he gets a kick out of the "bubbles" he creates.

This being my second child, I was in no hurry to get him potty trained because Grace was almost 2 1/2 before she was potty trained, and I keep hearing that boys are more difficult to train and they take longer. So, I am still hesitant to get too excited about all this, but it sure would be nice to not have to change diapers anymore! If we continue with this trend, then the only thing we're going to have to work on is getting him to sit on the potty the right way so he doesn't have to disrobe when we're out somewhere...

Coronado Monument

The early part of April the kids and I went to Arizona to visit David while he is away at school. While we were there, we went for a hike (one of Grace's favorite pasttimes) to the Coronado Monument. It was a half mile up - and I mean UP!

I love the sign here - there is a lot of illegal smuggling (of people) here as it is in a mountainous area right on the Mexico border, and the sign informs you to be cautious and to be aware of your surroundings at all times. They also suggest that you not be in the area after dark.

Grace of course was our leader. She loves hiking and is always up for an adventure. Once we reached the top, we had a gorgeous view of southern Arizona and Mexico.

Tristan decided it was time to take a break and play in the dirt...

All in all it was a good trip, and we enjoyed getting to explore a little bit of Sierra Vista, which will become our new home in June.

The life and times of selling a home

Our home has now been on the market for about 2 1/2 months - we have finally received an offer on it! It all looks good on paper, but we must be sure that this potential buyer can qualify... so the waiting game continues! I know my husband would disagree with me, but I am going to be SUPER hesitant to purchase another home while he's still in the military. The markets are so volatile of late that I don't want to go through this stress again. Sure it's a better use of your money, but not worth the stress when you're moving every 2-3 years.

Giving it a try

Well, I've decided to become a "blogger". I have such a good time keeping up with my "cousin" (David's actually) this way, I thought I'd give it a shot too. I don't do very well keeping up with anyone but my kids and my husband so maybe this will give me a chance to let y'all know what is going on in our lives. I will do my best to do weekly updates...
