KoJeon Antiques

Today our photography club went to a really neat "antique" furniture store.  Not all of her items are necessarily antiques, but she had some really nice things in her store.  Not only did we shop, but we took the opportunity to practice our photography skills.  After having my camera for over 2 years, I'm finally learning to take it off of auto mode and get some good pictures!

I really considered getting one of these ship's wheels because it made me think of my dad.  But I had no idea what I'd do with it when I got home, so I passed.

There were many things in this store that I would've loved to come home with, but I'm a little too frugal and a little to practical to pay the price for them.  Not to mention that we're out of room in our current dwelling - but I may be dragging the hubby back once we get our new digs on post!

Tristan's Turn at T-ball

It was finally Tristan's turn to take the field for T-ball and he was soooo excited!  It's still tough being the little brother when you're watching your sister play the sports you want to play.

The first time Tristan hit the ball off the tee, he hit it over parents' and kids' heads that were playing catch in front of him.  Thankfully they were really soft balls!  

He had so much fun and can't wait to go back!  He's just doing a clinic right now, but most definitely will be on a team next year - and he's already asking when soccer starts.

Commissary Field Trip

Two of the first grade classes took a walk over to the commissary to learn a bit about nutririon first hand.  Each of the children had a sheet of paper that they had to fill out regarding different things that they found there.

They were to identify their favorite vegetable, and one they had not tried before. 

They also chose their favorite fruit and one they would like to try. 

They also had to read the labes of cans and boxes to find out the weight and some of the nutritional content. 

After everyone finished their worksheets, the kids got a behind the scenes tour of our commissary. 

After the learning portion of our field trip, it was time for some lunch at the food court.

Grace's First T-ball Game

Yesterday was Grace's first T-ball game.  She was SO excited! 

She really seems to enjoy playing, and I think we may have a little athlete on our hands.  I am glad she's getting the chance to try out several different sports to see which fits her best.  We're still holding out for a ballet studio here, which our realtor is looking into for us, but for now, all the exposure she is getting to different sports is a wonderful thing.

Cirque du Soleil - Jungle Fantasy

Happy Birthday to me!  Cirque du Soleil is here in Seoul, and I had really wanted to go see their show, but the tickets were crazy expensive for all of us to be able to go.  After learning about their run in Seoul, I was reading in our post magazine that they were going to be coming to Camp Humphreys!  On my birthday, and the show was FREE!!!  So, I promptly let David know that I didn't care what he had planned, I didn't care that it was a school night and the show didn't start until 7:00 PM, we were going.  I told him it was my birthday and that's what I wanted to do.  But really, how could he argue with taking me to a Cirque show for free??  I wanna know how this guy always seems to luck out...

The kids and I headed over to meet David at the gym at 5:30 PM, and enjoyed a gormet meal of hot dogs/chili dogs, a frito pie, and cookies prior to the start of the show.  I didn't get any fabulous pictures because it was so dark and we were a ways back, but here's a few that turned out alright.

This guy was fantastic!  I would have fallen on the first trick, but he kept piling things up until the stack was as tall or taller than he was... and then he climbed on top of all of it and turned in circles!!

Everyone had a great time, and we were so very thankful that they would think enough of the troops and their families to come and present their show to us and not charge us a penny!
