Naomi - Month 9

Since last month, I've redeemed myself and taken a few more pictures of our growing girl.

Snuggling with Daddy. 

She's beginning to pull up on everything.

Up until now she would just do the Army low crawl - and why not when your floors are all wood and you can slide so easily?

She enjoys watching movies with her brother and sister. 

Grace is tieing a seatbelt across her lap.  Safety first!

She likes playing with the silverware in the dishwasher so much that when I slid the rack in so she couldn't play with the dirty dishes she climbed up onto the door so she could reach them.

The Art of Mastering Finger Foods

First you take one piece of grape, and put it in your mouth, being careful to chew it before swallowing. 

Be sure to have a handful in reserve. 

Don't be afraid to shove a bunch in your mouth at once, just be sure to chew them completely. 

Having them on your tray adds a level of difficulty as they move about more easily on this surface. 

When you do manage to get one picked up, be sure to shove it in your mouth before it gets away from you again. 

And if all else fails, skip the picking up part and just eat 'em straight off the tray

This same procedure also works for bananas.

Korea's War Museum

We took Judi and Darryl to the Korea War Museum yesterday since we were up in Seoul.  David and I have said for two years now that we were going to go, and we still hadn't done so.   On the grounds of the museum, they have a ton of airplanes and tanks, and even a 1:1 replica of a ship.

There was a lot of interesting stuff there about all the different wars Korea has been involved in.  We didn't even come close to seeing all there is there, so I imagine we'll be headed back at some point.

Craft Time

We've discovered some really cool crafts here in Korea.  These are window clings.  You can trace any picture you'd like and then color them in with any of the 20 some odd colors in the kit. 

It's really hard for me to let the kids go with whatever colors they want, but I'm getting better at letting them do their own thing.  After all, who am I to say that the prince doesn't ride on a rainbow horse?

We recently bought the kids jars for their "give", "save" and "spend" monies.  We broke out the paints and the kids decorated them up. 

Another fun thing we did was make some "pottery" to go along with one of our history lessons.  The clay I found was different that anything I've ever seen, and once you get past the sticking to everything, it was really neat.  When it dried it was light and fluffy, yet still held it's shape.  Then the kids painted their creations.
